VENUE:

The Marist Centre is in the heart of the small village of Nympsfield, which lies approximately 5 miles south-west of the well-known market town of Stroud in Gloucestershire in a beautiful and accessible part of the western Cotswolds.
There are numerous footpath walks in all directions from the village on which to explore, as well as fantastic scenic views from very close by.
It is easily reached from the M4 and M5 and there are railway stations, equidistant from Nympsfield, at Stroud and Dursley.

The Centre is administered and run by a resident community of Marist Sisters, who live in a separate wing of the house and who seek to be "a Mary presence" at all times. Many of our participants have commented that this energy is very tangible, both within the fabric of the building and in the discreet presence of the Sisters.
Originally built as a private house and then given to the Sisters who cared for orphaned children, it has evolved into a busy and popular residential centre. The building has been extended at various times (but always in keeping with its original architecture and materials) and now provides a comfortable and cosy 'weekend home' for our events.
The bedrooms are mostly twin-bedded (though requests for solo occupancy can often be accommodated) and there are plenty of bathrooms, shower rooms and toilets adjacent to the bedrooms and throughout the building. In addition, there are various quiet spaces and a chapel available to us; and all the facilities we use are within the same building.
During our retreats, we are the only group using the Centre.

Our retreats are fully catered and you can choose a 'standard', vegetarian or vegan diet. The standard of the food provided is good and you will be well provided for regardless of your choice.
